Katwai began its journey in the summer of 2015, creating surfsuits & swimwear with function, style and comfort in mind. We embrace timeless designs with a touch of retro style, simple lines with a clear concept of functionality. Our pieces adapt to every type of lifestyle, from active to leisure, and can be endlessly mixed-and-matched.

Katwai

"Wai" a Hawaiian word meaning water is our foundation. All is water; we are water. "Kat" is derived from Catalina (my name). The convergence of my essence with water is the genesis of this project.

sustainability

From waste to Wear

In 2020 we replaced the use of traditional fabrics with sustainable options such as ECONYL®, offering an entire collection of swimwear made from recycled ocean plastics. Since then, our fabrics, labels, accessories and packaging have been thought and developed to make a positive impact on the environment.

We are a small-batch, high-quality brand

We take pride in being a small independent boutique brand, designed in Punta del Este and ethically made in Montevideo, Uruguay.
